What to ask during a college tour

It’s often times overwhelming to ask questions when you’re visiting a college. While trying to take in the immense size of a college campus and the campus life, it’s often hard to focus on anything else. That’s why you should prepare a set of question in advance for each school that you are visiting. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Can you describe the campus culture and social scene?

  2. What are academic and career resources that are available to students?

  3. What is the job placement percentage for people of my major?

  4. How easy it to switch majors within my department and/or across departments?

  5. What are the food options for people with dietary restrictions?

  6. What extracurricular activities and clubs are available to students?

  7. What sets this college apart from other colleges in terms of academics?

  8. What do students normally do on the weekends?

Going on a college tour can be an exciting but overwhelming experience. Make the most of your visit and get a better sense of the college by coming prepared with questions.
